Ignite Academy Clinics CLINIC CANCELLED FOR JULY 1ST. Will restart Monday, July 6th. Our Academy Program is designed for all skill levels. We practice twice a week for 2 hours each for a total of 4 hours. The key to getting better at the game of volleyball is having more court time and getting great coaching - Academy does both! Whereas most rec teams are coached by parents with little to no knowledge of the game, Academy provides top notch club coaches with years of experience! Our science-backed coaching process ensures that each athlete is learning the game based on proven principles and methods. It's the best option out there for a very economical price! ACADEMY NOW AVAILABLE TO ALL SKILL LEVELS! We now have 4 courts at our practice facility, this allows us to better adjust courts to keep the skill levels as close to similar as possible. So if you are a true beginner, we will have a practice plan designed for you to work on all aspects of the game: setting, passing, serving, hitting, etc. If you have played competitive volleyball, maybe a year or two of club, our Intermediate courts will be best for you. If you are older, more skilled, we will have a court for you as well - working on various skills as well as playing more competitive games (quads/etc). ADVANCED COURT: For our older, more advanced level athletes, we'll have 1 court dedicated to some tweaks to skills and game play. INTERMEDIATE: We'll have an intermediate court also designated for skill development and game play. DEVELOPMENT/BEGINNERS: Those still new to the sport will focus mostly on skill development. LOCATION: North Phoenix Prep 14100 N 32nd St, Phoenix, AZ 85032 WHEN: Monday / Wednesday from 5:30-7:30PM COST: $199 for the month (8: 2-hour sessions) or $25 per drop in. Drop ins can happen at any time, our program is designed to cover most skills at each session. Each monthly Academy session starts at the first Mon/Weds of every month (unless there is a holiday). Drop ins welcomed any time. REGISTER! This program is geared towards making sure your daughter gets better at the game they love. How are we different than a traditional league? Practices are twice a week for 2 hours each - 4 total hours (more than any league experience). More time on court equals learning the skills faster Trained by our club coaches with the same drills as our club athletes, learning the game the way it was meant to be played. A focus on active, game-like drills that enable more engagement/touches versus standing in line waiting for their turn. A fast-paced, energetic program! Scrimmages are half-court, 3v3 or 4v4 games to encourage control and lots of touches. We do not coach the girls to win the game by passing the ball over on the first hit in order for the other team to make a mistake. We focus on 3 touches (pass, set, hit) so that they learn the game the right way! Target audiences: Beginners: Athletes with little to no formal experience Intermediate: Athletes with some experience, but need more skills development Advanced: Club and competitive experience Program Details: Each monthly session starts at the first Mon/Weds of every month and ends the last Mon/Weds of every month. First half of the session will focus on development of skills and game-like reps Last half will be a mix of development and scrimmages Practices will be during the week, leaving weekends for family time! Athletes should wear court shoes (NOT RUNNING - doesn't provide side-to-side report), comfortable clothing, knee pads and water bottle. Cost The cost for this program is $199 which includes lots of court time, club level coaching and a focus on helping your daughter learn the game based on scientifically proven methods and principles. COVID-19 MITIGATION PROTOCOLS The last few months have been difficult for all of us. We wish all of our greater Ignite family our best now and in the future as we move through these unprecedented times. As our state begins to reopen, Ignite is dedicated to minimizing the risk of the virus when playing the game we all love. USA Volleyball is allowing their insurance to be used when states allow "organized youth activities." This week, the state of Arizona is allowing "organized youth activities" which means we can get back on the court. In order to have your athlete back on the court, the following waiver is required. It is the same one used by most of the clubs here in Arizona - given to us through the JVA. COVID-19 WAIVER Facility and Staff Mitigation Procedures The novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person contact, including individuals without disease symptoms. As a result, federal, state, and local governments and federal and state health agencies recommend social distancing and have, in many locations, prohibited or limited the congregation of groups of people. The health and well-being of our staff, athletes and their families remains our top priority. In order to minimize the risk of COVID-19 entering our environment and spreading amongst our community, we will only allow staff assigned to work and athletes scheduled to participate to be in our gym at this time. Ignite has put in place numerous preventative measures and enhanced cleaning protocols to reduce the likelihood of spreading COVID-19 in the gym environment; however, we cannot guarantee that you or your child(ren) will not become infected with COVID-19. Further, attending sponsored activities at Ignite could increase your risk and your child(ren)’s risk of contracting COVID-19. Here are some of our mitigation protocols for getting back in the gym: FACILITY - NORTH PHOENIX PREP NPX will be responsible for sanitizing the facility. We have provided our recommendations based on several webinars, articles and discussions with representatives from Johns Hopkins, CDC, Doctors/Epidemiologists, JVA, large facility owners in our industry, as well as many others. Parents, guardians, and non-staff will be allowed inside the gym - please bring your own chair. We will limit the number of parents, please be patient with us on this. Various locations throughout the facility (door handles, doors, etc) will be sanitized frequently. No bleachers will be available All water fountains will be turned off. Each athlete should bring enough water to last a full 2 hour clinic. PRIOR TO ENTERING THE GYM Signed COVID-19 Waivers will be required to participate in any activity. You may digitally sign the waiver here: IGNITE COVID-19 WAIVER. Waivers will be on site, however, you must use your own pen to sign it. Please enter the gym through the South / West door. It will be open. Please ensure social distancing while waiting to enter. Athletes will be excited to see each other and will want to hug, high five, etc - please make sure your athlete knows to stay 6 ft away at all times prior to practice. Everyone must perform a daily self-check for the signs and symptoms of COVID-19 & other illness BEFORE arriving at the gym. NO ONE will be allowed in the gym if they have any symptoms or have been in contact with a known infected individual. Staff/Coaches/Volunteers will undergo safety training prior to engaging with athletes Athletes will undergo safety training Temperature checks will be performed before entering the gym by our staff. Please do not bring your child to practice or a tournament if they have a fever and afterwards for up to 24 hours. Wash hands and arms (up to elbow) for 20 seconds before entering the gym and anytime you use the bathroom. Athletes must enter gym with training gear already on (training gear must be washed prior to each practice) Attendance will be taken to help with contact tracing should it be needed. INSIDE THE GYM Maintain social distancing when possible Masks must be worn by Coaches/Staff/Volunteers at ALL TIMES Masks must be worn by athletes when possible. We realize wearing a mask during play is difficult - we ask that athletes wear them during downtime Hand sanitizer will be provided, however, we encourage athletes/coaches/staff to also bring their own and keep it in their backpacks and use it frequently during practice Backpacks will have a designated location within the gym with appropriate spacing Volleyballs, carts and training equipment will be sanitized regularly (before/during/after practices and when warranted) Athletes and coaches should minimize contact with other teams to help with contact tracing Balls that roll onto another court should be gently pushed to the back wall with a foot - no need to pick up the ball and send it back EXITING THE GYM Maintain social distancing when possible Wash hands or use hand sanitizer upon exit All athletes will exit out same door as there are no other renters using the facility after us.
