Boy’s Spring Season Info
PRE-TRYOUT CLINICS:
- SAT, Jan 13th 1-3p
- SAT, Jan 20th 1-3p
- SAT, Jan 27th 1-3p
Season will go from Jan – April
3 Practices a week + Sports Performance Training
Practice Days/Times:
- Sunday’s: 1-3p
- Weds: 4-5p (skills)
- Friday: 4:30-6:00p
4 Region Tournaments:
- Boy’s #1: 2/24/24
- Boy’s #2: 3/9/24
- Boy’s #3: 3/23/24
- Boy’s #4: 4/20/24
FEES:
$750 for the 3 month season, 3 practices a week, Sports Performance training, and game shirt.
TRYOUT STEPS
It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that you read and go step by step. Failure to compete each and every step will make tryouts harder for all of us. It’s important that tryouts go smoothly, so please follow directions as outlined below.
STEP 1: SPORTS ENGINE ACCOUNT
Its very important that you create a FREE Sports Engine household account in the PARENT’S NAME. This is the account where you will create your parent’s account. USE THE LINK BELOW IN STEP 2 to CREATE YOUR ATHLETE’S MEMBERSHIPS.
DO NOT TRY TO PURCHASE A MEMBERSHIP AT THIS STEP – IT’S IMPORTANT TO CLICK ON THE [JOIN USAV AS AN IGNITE ATHLETE] BUTTON BELOW!!
STEP 2: REGISTER WITH THE USAV AZ REGION
This membership goes for an entire season. So if you’ve purchased a membership in the Fall – it will last through the summer of the following year.
In order to participate in tryouts, your son will need to be registered with the USAV AZ Region. Not only are we required to make sure you have registered, but it’s important in case they get injured as membership with the region covers as secondary insurance. The cost for this is $55. It will be shown as two separate transactions. One for the national oficce ($20) and one for the Arizona Region Office ($35).
IF YOU REACH 18 BEFORE 9/1/2024, you MUST PURCHASE AN ADULT MEMBERSHIP!
VERY IMPORTANT: PLEASE PRINT OUT THE USAV MEMBERSHIP CARD and bring to tryouts.
STEP 3: DETERMINE ATHLETE’S AGE GROUP
This is super important! Please make sure you do this PRIOR to making plans for tryouts. Please do not assume the age – the only way to determine what age group your son should try out for is to use the USAV AZ Regions tool. However, for recruiting purposes and making sure they play the level that makes best sense for your athlete, please use the guide below. For example, if your athlete is a younger 8th grader, and the region tool shows 13’s, but we would prefer her to play 14’s. Another example is if your athlete plays 13’s this year but should have played 14’s because of her grade, then when he is a freshman in HS, he’ll have gone from playing 13’s all the way to 15’s.
We are only accepting 14 and younger for this tryout!

STEP 4: REGISTER FOR IGNITE TRYOUTS
What to expect at Tryouts: Athletes will play on court (so come ready to play!), get to know coaches, etc. Parents can stay and attend an informational meeting with our Directors where we will talk through what to expect this season at Ignite and answer any questions.
