Meet Kris Pérez: A Volleyball Trailblazer and Passionate Coach!

Kris Pérez’ journey in the world of volleyball has been nothing short of remarkable, spanning continents and fueled by an unwavering passion for the sport. Hailing from Venezuela, Kris’s love for volleyball was ignited at the tender age of 12. Despite moving to a different country, her dedication and determination led her back to the sport when she joined North Phoenix Prep, where she truly began to excel and immerse herself in the game.

As her skills blossomed, Kris caught the attention of Ignite Volleyball Club, a pivotal turning point in her volleyball journey. Earning her place on the esteemed 17’s team was just the beginning, as she continued to rise to greater heights, eventually becoming an invaluable member of the 18 1’s team. Her journey as a player at Ignite marked a period of growth, development, and achievements that would later shape her coaching career.

Kris’s passion for volleyball extended beyond her playing days, and at just 17 years old, she took her first steps into the world of coaching. Assisting with middle school teams at her high school, she showcased innate leadership qualities and an instinctive understanding of the game, setting the foundation for her future as a remarkable coach.

Her coaching journey continued to flourish during summer camps at Ignite, where she was entrusted with the role of assistant coach for the girls’ 14s team. This experience further ignited her passion for coaching, and she eagerly embraced every opportunity to grow and evolve as a mentor to young athletes.

With each season, Kris’s expertise expanded, and she fearlessly embraced the challenge of being the head coach for the boys’ 14’s team, making a bold statement about her dedication and ability to inspire her players earned her the respect and admiration of her coaching peers.

Kris’s impact extended beyond club volleyball as well. When given the opportunity to serve as the assistant coach for the 18’s boys national team, she displayed exceptional strategic brilliance and a unique talent for motivating and nurturing her players.

Her coaching prowess was further exemplified when she took on the monumental task of building the boys’ volleyball program at Cactus Shadow High School. As the head coach for JV and assistant coach for Varsity, Kris instilled a culture of excellence, fostering an environment that empowered her players to achieve greatness both on and off the court.
